Iggy Azalea: Local Artist Spotlight

 

Iggy Azalea, born in Mullumbimby, New South Wales is blowin up the charts as one of the hottest femcee’s in the game right now.

If you haven’t heard of Iggy Azalea you will now. (Shout out to my boy Knobes for tipping me off)

The failed model has recently signed to Interscope Records after releasing several singles and an album independently, struggling to get noticed in the cut throat US rap game which doesn’t exactly welcome female, white, non-American femcee’s with open arms. 

 

Who is Iggy Azalea?

“What’s with the name?” I hear you ask. Her stage name Iggy Azalea is the name of the 21 year old’s childhood dog, her real name is Amethyst.

Iggy Azalea (left our shores at the age of 16 years with $4000 to her name to pursue her rapping career in the United States, five years later she is seeing her dream and hard work come to fruition with industry vets commending Iggy on her rapping ability and unique style.

I am willing to bet other female rappers are quietly concerned about her talent, huge popularity and novelty. She is an incredibly beautiful girl with porcelain skin, a booty, a modelesque physique spanning over 6ft with blonde straight weave that is laid for days. Seriously, Iggy makes ME want to get out a flat iron, that hair oooo!

Iggy claims she doesn’t like to read blog posts about her due to their negativity towards her, she prefers to Tweet. I actually saw her go in on Kid Fury the other day (despite him actually liking her…)

Iggy’s tracks releases to date

Miss Azalea had two tracks that went viral on YouTube titled “Pu$$y” and “My World.” The latest track she has come out with is titled “The Last Song” and also has a music video (which you can watch the videos of below). Her first studio album is said to be released this year and is titled The Classic.

In September 2011, she released a free mixtape for download and promo titled Ignorant Art which you can download for free >>HERE.<<

She has also very recently released a  collabo with FKi on “I Think She Ready” from the Transformers N The Hood  mixtape which you can listen to below (it’s hot!):

 

She’s also released (in my opinion, BETTER version) a remix to “Roman in Moscow” by Nicki Minaj.

Does Iggy Azalea have a man? 

So a girl as pretty as Iggy gotta have a man right? Correct.

She dates fellow emcee A$AP Rocky (Rakim Meyers) 23 year old Harlem rapper.

 

 

According toPrivacyInPublic.com Iggy reveals the following-

 

On their relationship: “I don’t know how to put it. It’s like… I… I don’t know… I love him and that’s all there is to it. We have our own thing going on and I’m not the only one that [got the tattoos]. I’ll tell you that. I’m just the only one with it on my fingers!”

 

How they first hooked up: “We have a mutual friend Chase N. Cashe. He kinda showed me their stuff and he showed them mine. I came out to New York for the CMJ festival, and I couldn’t make their shows, but I got some of their numbers and was like, ‘When you’re out in LA and you do a show, I’ll come support.’ They ended up coming out a few weeks later, and Chase introduced us all. I was supposed to be doing a song with Rocky but… [Laughs]”
