Give Me All Your Luvin’ – Madonna ft. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A: MUSIC VIDEO REVIEW
“Give Me All Your Luvin’” is the highly anticipated latest single from Madonna featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. The Queen of Pop is back.
“Give Me All Your Lovin’” marks the return of Madonna onto the charts, the video tying in with her half-time appearance at the 2012 Superbowl.
The track is the lead single from the 53 year old’s upcoming album titled MDNA, scheduled to be released 26 March 2012.
She interestingly chose the rap / pop sensations Nicky Minaj and M.I.A to join her on the track. Perhaps she chose them to get some popularity points from Gen Y and Z.
The track to me screams “I’m back bitches! Worship me because I am the queen and my music doesn’t sound like every other pop chick out there.”
VISUALS
The video is reminiscent of Gwen Stefani’s “Holla Back Girl” with cheerleaders and Japanese style sailor outfits. Faceless football players (hello Superbowl!) feature, taking bullets for Madonna, worshipping her. ChartRigger looks for a hidden meaning in the players:
“What seems to be just below the surface is a big F-U to all the pop hoes who have tried to snatch away Madonna’s crown without giving proper credit. Those faceless cheerleaders in the background? That’s you, Gaga, Ke$ha, Jessie J, etc. ‘Maybe you’ll do fine as long as you don’t lie to me, and pretend to be what you’re not.’”
There are some very quirky elements thrown into the video which seems a more Minaj-like touch, she nurses a baby and later throws it away (what the?), golden rain pours from the sky, and of course the triple Marilyn Monroe with Madonna, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. (with throwbacks of her 80s love for white lace).
Did you pick up on the Smirnoff product placement? I wonder if they are Superbowl sponsors?
One thing that is undeniable is how good her body looks for her age, she looks fitter than girl’s half her age. Madge, I still don’t like the fact you get around in fishnets and gyrate like a twenty year old, it just doesn’t seem right. She’s Mrs Fancye’s age and I cannot imagine her in a music video popping and dropping it, no way.
THE VERDICT
“Give Me All Your Luvin’” is fairly mediocre and I think it’ a sell out to make a music video specifically for Super Bowl. Although, I believe it is catchy and will perform very well on the charts. It will probably grow on me like most Madonna tracks. I don’t think Minaj and M.I.A add to the track in fact I don’t really notice them – if you’re the baddest bitch of pop then why would you NEED the two groupies cheering you on? If I was Nicky or M.I.A I’d probably be a little insulted about how I was portrayed in the video as a cheering Madonna groupie.
