King of controversy Chris Brown and my fav Drake have come to physical blows.
I remember first hearing about this on Twitter at night and I was genuinely shocked. Drama follows Chris - but Drizzy? My Aubrey?!
LATEST: Drake to be arrested
The blogs, news sites and social media networks are blowing up about this Chris Brown and Drake beef. I’ma break the incident down into bite size pieces for your consumption.
Where and when?
W.I.P night club in NYC early morning of 14 June 2012
Who was there?
Drake and his entourage, Chris Brown and his entourage, Karrueche Tran (Brown’s girlfriend), Meek Mill, Wale, (Maybach Music Group) Juelz Santana, Teyana Taylor, Trey Songz, Tony Parker (NBA player & ex-husband of Eva Longoria) and innocent club goers.
What sparked it?
Multiple sources are stating that Brown sent over a bottle of champagne to Drake as a peace offering – Drake sent it back with a note attached stating ‘I’m f****** the love of your life, deal with it.’
Hmm a bit narky there Drake…
According to Kid Fury (from a source present with Meek and Juelz):
Chris Brown had his own section in Club W.i.P. with his own bottles. Meek Mill was also in a separate section with Juelz Santana. Keep in mind that the club is very small, so everyone still was very close together.
Drake and his crew arrived later and sat in the section with Meek, Juelz and others.
At this point, Chris was seen throwing up Blood Gang signs and acting banjee, which must have pissed Drake off. For whatever reason, Aubrey felt provoked and went on a rant about Chris for around an hour — muttering “I don’t like that n*gga.”
According to TMZ:
Drake flashed his middle finger to one of Chris’ bodyguards and shouted … “I’m about to go whoop that ass!” Chris’ entourage then returned fire with a few hand gestures of their own.
Drake felt disrespected … even though he started the exchange … and went to get backup from his boys Meek Mill, Juelz Santana, and Trav B.
Drake got loud and shouted at Chris … “You be on that ho s**t on Twitter n***a” — a clear reference to a recent Twitter war between Chris, Drake, and Meek … all over who’s banging Rihanna.
In accordance to Kid Fury’s source:
After fussing about his disgust, Drake amped up his entourage who began throwing things in Chris’ direction, which led to loud words and then niggas tossing around everything in sight.
“They were throwing anything. They weren’t just throwing bottles, they were throwing buckets, tables, ice, chairs, everything. And people were getting hit left and right with shit and that was it.”
Drake was escorted out by his several brolic bodyguards. Juelz Santana later cursed Drake out for coming into their section of the club and starting drama.
With tensions running high, someone threw a bottle — which set the whole thing off … and the shoving turned to punches.
We’re told club security rushed in to break up the fight … and called police for backup. Brown and Drake left the scene by the time cops showed up … but several members of their entourages remained at the club. Multiple members of both crews required medical assistance.
Drake’s rep maintains that the rapper actually wasn’t involved in the fight at all, but was just leaving the club when it broke out.
So it sounds like a whole bunch of smack talking escalated to physical violence, then when the heat got too much in the kitchen the two lads Breezy and Drizzy cut and ran - leaving the entourage to fight their fight.
Chris Brown’s outcry
During or post fight Breezy decided to Tweet (and then promptly changed his mind – as he soon deleted them) his thoughts on the whole incident. Seriously – Chris, ENOUGH with the tweet deletes! You can’t be your own publicist man…
Chris Brown also reported the fight to the police.
There were between five to eight casualties reported:
- Chris Brown who incurred a nasty gash on the chin which he tweeted;
- Karrueche was also cut;
- Big Pat - Breezy’s bodyguard – his head was cut open by a flying bottle;
- Aussie tourist (how the hell did one of our own get caught up in this mess?!) Hollie C needed 16 stitches to the head after beeing rushed to the hospital passing out of consciousness;
- Tony Parker got glass in his eye and is out of action for a week;
- Victoria a clubgoer suffered a bump to the head and cut hand needing stitches.
The club suffered some serious damage in the fight — including busted up tables, broken mirrors, shattered lighting and glass scratches all over the floors.
According to the NYPD Drake is to be arrested on the charge of ‘reckless endangerment.’
If Drake doesn’t give himself up by early next week, police may arrest him during tonight’s concert at Jones Beach.
Brown’s attorney stated the following:
“I have turned over evidence that it was Drake who instigated this. The evidence makes it clear that Chris is the victim in all of this,”
“I believe the police are building a case against Drake and his thugs, clearly, Drake was the instigator, and there is evidence he threw glassware.”
“While none so far reported seeing a gun, several witnesses have told NYPD detectives that they heard what they believed was a gunshot inside the club during the disturbance,” said NYPD spokesman.
So who’s to blame? The police and Team Breezy point towards Drake.
Chris Brown has a history of being violent so some say that he had this coming – it was karma. The act of sending over the bottle may not have been a gesture of kindness at all, it could have been a $200 bottle of shade for all we know.
Obviously Drake didn’t have to push too many of Chris’ buttons to get his aggressive side fired up. It was a bad move for Brown to react the way he did – from a publicity perspective.
Breezy is not the only one to blame here though – Drake was wrong for being involved in it regardless of who started it.
Smashing bottles – that is serious as hell. Glassing is no damn joke. Tony Parker could have lost an eye. Those injured may have unsightly life long scars on their face.
I don’t care if this beef was about sub-tweeting, built up shade or Rihanna’s cooka Drake and Chris Brown you’re adult men – address the issues with words not with bloody bottles (not to mention the tragic wasting of expensive ass champagne).
