Yesterday I went and saw the film “The Help” which is based on the best selling book of the same title written by Kathryn Stockett. I read the book last year and couldn’t put it down, so naturally I was hyphy when I found out it was made into a film.
Big Boi from Outkast fame tours Australia
Big Boi aka Antwan André Patton the Savannah, Georgia native blessed my city with his 100% unique sounding southern rap last night. I don’t think there is anyone in the southern rap game (yes Lil Wayne and Cash Money I am talking to you) better than Big Boi and Andre 3000 for producing eargasmic beats with such a rich, soulful and regionally true sound (right down to the state). A close second would most definitely go to Goodie Mob fellow Georgians (anticipating the new album hard).
Beyoncé has debuted her latest music video on the E! network, 26 August 2011 for the track “1+1” which was not officially released as a single but was debuted almost three months ago.
Rihanna has been racking up the air miles in the heat of 2011. From turning up the heat Down Under in our already warm climate, then returning to her hotter homeland of Barbados for some cultural R&R, backing up in the UK for the V Music Festival and finishing up the summer season partying on a yacht in St Tropez.
Earlier this year in our summer, the gorgeous Rihanna graced our Australian shores for her “Last Girl On Earth Tour.” My boy Nick went to see the crimson haired vixen and below are some photos of her belting out her tunes, with a billion (well not quite) costume changes in Brisbane, Australia.
Getting up close and personal with her Rihanna Navy singing “Only Girl In The World.”
Kardashian wedding, love, family and profit
The Kardashian wedding (with minimal mention of Humphries) was indeed all that was predicted, a fairytale wedding, for celebrity royalty. Unfortunately, the reception was cut short due to complaints from neighbours (probably just jealous they didn’t make the 500 invitation list) of noise. The reception wound up by 1am with the music being cut off at midnight. Not even the Kardashians are exempt from bothersome neighbour complaints.
O.P.I Lincoln Park After Dark is a cult classic dark purple O.P.I shade made famous by many female celebrities since 2009. Khloe Kardashian inspired me to start wearing it on my fingernails. I have been wearing it all Autumn and Winter this year. The thing I love about LPAD is that it is a dark purple, which is much more wearable than a flat black. LPAD has a sister, Lincoln Park At Midnight which is the same deep purple but it has very fine shimmer through it. Lincoln Park After Dark is much more of a flat matte purple.
Lady Gaga “Yoü and I” Music Video Review and synopsis
Lady Gaga’s new music video for her latest single “Yoü and I” was released 16 August two days before it’s scheduled release on 18 August. It was Miss Gaga herself that linked the video on her Twitter account stating:
“F*** Thursday You must love all + every part of me, as must I, for this complex + incomprehensible force to be true.”
The music video as per typical Lady Gaga is anything but conventional. She received some criticism for her last music video “The Edge Of Glory” for it’s simplicity. It featured Gaga and the late saxophonist Clarence Clemons singing on a New York sidewalk and fire escape. People expect a level of oddity when watching a Lady Gaga performance.

My boy Nick tipped me off on Eve touring Australia this September. This took me by surprise because Eve hasn’t released any singles or albums since 2007 with her hit single “Tambourine.” “Tambourine” did not perform too well on the US charts which led to further difficulties. She began working on an album of which “Tambourine” would feature titled Here I Am (which is the exact title of Kelly Rowland’s latest solo album), however it was delayed to September 11, 2007 and then October 16 but it was never released. According to Eve in an interview with the New York Post in February 2009 the problems at Interscope Records were responsible for the pushbacks.
