*Jay-Z voice* Want big primpin with brows to please? Check out the Benefit Brow Bar.
I visited the Benefit Brow Bar in Myer Brisbane on Friday to get my brows primped and shaped to perfection. Ooh la la!!
This was not the first time I had been there – I visited almost two months ago and was waxed by the lovely Elva. This week I received the perfectionist services of Megan.
I love this place – I have sent a few girls from my 9 to 5 down there and they have also been impressed. It’s a quick service, you don’t require an appointment (if you really do want a specific time you can book ahead though), and the service is always pleasant, highly professional and in my opinion yields great brow-tastic results.
I rarely wear any products on my eyebrows as they are dark and full. On occasion I may use my E.L.F brow kit.
Ladies and gents – your brows frame your face. When your brows are tidy and groomed well – it makes a huge difference to the way your face looks. Don’t neglect and abuse those brows. Yes – I am looking at you.
If you are guilty of brow neglect and want to make a change, why not try out your local Benefit Brow Bar?
For my readers in Australia – they are located within Myer department stores in the CBD, check the link above for all locations worldwide.
So what is the Benefit Brow Bar?
Every Benefit Brow Bar is staffed with licensed professionals, highly trained in the art of brow shaping, so they’re always ready to wax and tweeze, primp and please.
What makes the Benefit Brow Bar different from your normal beautician/waxer?
As Megan said to me – you want to go to your hair cut, your hair coloured – who do you turn to? A stylist, a colourist respectively. If you want your brows groomed you should visit someone who specialises in styling and shaping eyebrows.
Hair removal is but one aspect of grooming your brows. If you wish to change the shape of your eyebrows, find out your best shape or swoon over Kim Kardashian or Katy Perry’s arches, you will need some professional brow help to achieve these changes such as the services offered by the Benefit Brow Bar.
What can I expect if I go there?
A greeting from a lovely Benefit babe.
You sign a waiver to state that you haven’t had been tanning that day, are on particular medications, had microdermabrasion or recently used AHA’s.
You will be seated at the bar after you inform them of the brow service you would like –
- brow arch wax;
- brow arch tweeze;
- brow tint;
- brow tint with arch.
They will then ask you what you would like your perfect brow to look like. Your aesthetitian will explain the feasibility of getting that brow look and the steps it will take to achieve it. Let’s be real, if you walk in with ‘abused brows’ that are overplucked and an unsightly or non-existent arch, it’s going to take you some time to grow them out and more than one visit – to achieve your desired eyebrow.
Your brows will be measured up to achieve the perfect height for your arch using your nose and eye and face shape. The eyebrow area is then cleansed and the shaping begins!
I really like how the Benefit babes make you hold up a hand mirror and show you the way your brows look – showcasing the progress to gauge whether your are satisfied with the look.
Does it hurt?
If you receive regular waxing it is no more painful than usual. The area is small and the girls know how to remove wax with minimal discomfort.
How long does it take?
From when I have been – anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes.
How often do I need to go back?
This will depend on your individual hair growth, what state your arches were in prior to your visit and the advice the Benefit Babe gave you.
I initially went to reshape my brows now they are pretty much just how I want them – I just need to let a couple of areas grow in. Realistically I just need to pluck away the stray hairs around the brows now as maintenance.
How much does it cost?
These are Australian prices (subject to change):
- Brow arch wax $27
- Brow arch tweeze $30
- Brow & lip wax $35
- Lip wax $15
- Chin wax $15
- Lip & chin wax $25
- Brow tint $15
- Brow tint with arch $35
Thank you to Megan for generously giving me the lovely Benefit Lookin To Rock Rita fragrance – it is truly a gorgeous, fresh scent with top notes: lemon, coconut, freesia – middle notes of: juicy fig, hyacinth, violet and bottom notes of: sandalwood, brazilian rosewood, vanilla.
The packaging is to die for. Look at the shape of the bottle – it’s a little cocktail shaker!
Benefit’s products are always packaged so beautifully. I have been eyeing off those Box O’ Powders -ugh mega swoon.\

I don’t have a before shot because, well they weren’t horrific to start with – this visit was a maintenance one.
