Jill Scott – the queen of neo-soul announced via Twitter that she is touring Australia in November this year.

I thought my soul was full when Erykah Badu blessed my life with her presence in 2011 – until this tour was announced!
I ‘discovered’ the wonder and beauty of Jill Scott when I was in college. Her music featured (and still does) as the soundtrack to anything from essay writing to background dinner tunes or sultry bedroom music.
‘Who Is Jill Scott?’ her 2000 debut album is a timeless LP – the content of the album varies from heartbreak to jealousy to independence, strength and love. Scott’s music is universally appealing and each album she creates journals a different era in her life.
The next few chapters are being recorded in her two upcoming albums – one a lullaby album to lull you to sleep and ‘inspire you in your reset’ and the second is a studio album featuring her signature soul music.
Jill Scott reveals her tour excitement in an interview with TheMusic.com.au :
“I can’t wait. I’ve never been, I cannot wait to see what my eyes see, I can’t wait to smell, I can’t wait to touch. I’m very excited; this is a big deal for me.
“I just got familiar when I got on twitter and I started receiving tweets from Aussies and I’m like ‘well hello! Hi!’. I spoke to my partner and my agent and said ‘I have to go to Australia’ and I just waited until they said that we got it.”
Soul music lovers this is a night not to be missed.
The soulful diva will be kicking off her Australian tour in Perth on 17th November, before playing one show each in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
Tickets will be on sale to the general public from 9:00am on Tuesday, 18th June.
