This product is thebomb.com. My girl Miss E had this before I did and I was still on my Indianwood high, so naturally I needed another one (this specific one) in my life.
Constructivist is a delicious metallic chocolate paint pot (cream eyeshadow or eyeshadow base) with red/bronze undertones. The colour is highly pigmented yet buildable. The red bronze undertones really make my hazel/light brown eye colour pop.
It is rather creamy to work with (yet not as much so as with Painterly paint pot maybe that is a common characteristic the metallic paint pots?) and a little product goes a long with this deep brown colour which means the product will last a long time, stretching your dollar. One thing to note as is the case with other paint pots, is that it dries almost to a powder texture.
You can use your fingers or a brush to apply Constructivist it is really your personal preference. Mama Fancye uses fingers to blend her Revlon cream shadows and they always look great.
I prefer brushes so to place the colour down I use my double ended Models Prefer flat shader and smudger brush that I specifically use for cream shadows.
As Constructivist dries and sets to a powder finish yet still maintains it’s beautiful metallic sheen, you need to work to blend it pretty quickly whether that be with your finger or a brush. Apply the cream shadow to one eye and blend before moving onto the other eye. I use a MAC #217 or my Coastal Scents E250 to blend the edges.
Constructivist is stunning on it’s own, but I like to use it as a base for a smokey eye, whatever powder shadow or pigment you put over the top is going to adhere like glue to the paint pot and bring extra depth and definition to the top colour. I would keep your top powder shadow/pigment colour to browns, coppers, plums and neutrals. I love Constructivist as a base for M.A.C Twinks and Espresso, along with my Coastal Scents pigments in Redstar, Misterioso Bronze, and Chocolate.
Constructivist easily lasts all day on my eyes. It also does not crease on me (a problem I have with most shadows). It is a versatile shade that can be worn in a conservative office environment or built up to a smokier deeper shade for the evening with minimal effort.

Neutral brown and smokey brown eye lovers will adore Constructivist. I can’t believe I have gone this long without having it in my collection. It’s versatility, ease of use, and colour pay off make it worth investing in if you do not already have a bronze/brown cream shadow.
